The clinicians at Coastal Clinicians Group are licensed social workers who provide holistic, trauma-informed support that helps clients address the barriers that may affect their progress in a legal matter. This may include assistance with mental health concerns, substance use, housing insecurity, access to treatment and community resources, crisis management, and other challenges that can impact client well-being and case outcomes.The clinicians at Coastal Clinicians Group can provide an independent perspective and additional layer of support for clients navigating complex systems. Their services may include attending DCF home visits, observing and documenting parent-child interactions, preparing visitation summaries for attorneys, participating in foster care reviews and other meetings, appearing in court when appropriate, coordinating services, monitoring progress, and assisting clients in completing tasks. Through ongoing engagement we help clients to overcome barriers that may interfere with reunification, permanency, or other case-related goals.

Begin by sending an email to info@coastalclinicians.com and one of our clinicians will respond within 24 hours to schedule a phone call to review the needs of a case and discuss the specific services to be rendered. If the attorney wants to proceed, they will file a Motion for Funds (can be ex parte) and an Affidavit of Indigency with the court. The clinicians at Coastal Clinicians Group are approved as vendors through the Committee for Public Council Services (CPCS) who allocate funding through the Indigent Court Cost (ICCA). As CPCS vendors, the clinicians at Coastal Clinicians Group submit their hours directly to CPCS and are paid by the Commonwealth. The hiring attorney is responsible for providing the clinician / private social worker with the court-approved Motion for Funds. Before an invoice can be processed and paid by CPCS, the hiring attorney must review and approve the invoice. The clinicians at Coastal Clinicians can also be retained privately and are approved to bill insurance companies for therapy services only.

Our clinicians are licensed through the State of Massachusetts at the level of LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work), the highest level in MA. Some of our clinicians are licensed at the LCSW level and are master's level clinicians. We are each an approved vendor with the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS).

Coastal Clinicians Group provides a range of comprehensive clinical evaluation and assessment services for attorneys, courts, families, and agencies involved in Probate and Family Court, Juvenile Court and Criminal Court. We conduct Parenting Capacity Evaluations, Bonding and Attachment Assessments, Guardian ad Litem (GAL) investigations, Home Studies, Placement Assessments, Domestic Violence Risk Assessments, and other specialized forensic social work evaluations. These assessments are designed to provide objective and clinically informed opinions regarding child safety, family functioning, parenting capacity, and the quality of bond/attachment in parent/child relationships. Reports are tailored to the specific referral questions presented by the Court or retaining attorney and are prepared in a professional format suitable for litigation and court proceedings.

The earlier a social worker from Coastal Clinicians Group becomes involved in a case, the greater the opportunity to identify concerns, address barriers, and connect clients with services that support positive outcomes. Early intervention allows families to begin addressing issues such as housing instability, mental health concerns, substance use, parenting challenges, and service engagement before they become significant obstacles to progress. Early involvement also allows the time necessary to observe family interactions, monitor progress, coordinate with service providers, and provide attorneys with timely clinical insight and documentation. While social work services can be beneficial at any stage of a case, families often benefit most when support begins as early as possible, allowing sufficient time to demonstrate progress and address concerns before critical decisions are made.
